The Myers-Briggs-Type-Indicator (MBTI), based on C.G.
Jungs theory of personality types is a tool for helping
individuals and teams to learn about themselves. The
theory explains how apparently random behavior is actually
consistent because it follows from peoples preferences:
 |
|
where
to direct energy |
| |
|
|
 |
|
how to
gather infomation |
| |
|
|
 |
|
how to
make decisions |
When people are aware of their differences, they can
reduce conflicts and deal constructively with them
YouCan has been
using the MBTI over 10 years in Career Planning and
Leadership Coaching. Usually the evaluation has a "wow"-effect
on our clients because it leads to some kind of "reconciliation".
Such as: "o.k. stop wanting to become someone else,
focus on your best and most favored skills and build
on them" The MBTI is also very helpful because
it redirects your focus, away from negative problem
related thinking towards a positive solution related
communication style. For understanding your specific
way of thinking and acting helps you to understand the
people you work with. With the knowledge of the MBTI
you can create a climate of mutual respect and appreciation
because you know how to bring out the best in yourself
and others.
